The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, written by Barbara Robinson and directed by Darren Butler, chronicles a church that is scandalized when the wildest, toughest kids in town take over the leading roles in the annual Christmas pageant. Mrs. Armstrong, the usual director, oversees the annual church Christmas pageant that is the same every year. After an accident that results in the hospitalization of Mrs. Armstrong, Grace Bradley takes over the pageant for this season and is challenged with casting the Herdman children, the toughest and meanest kids in town. Fitting the unsuitable children into their Biblical roles provides one laugh after another as they collide with the Christmas story head-on and help everyone else rediscover its true meaning.
